Learn how to give your RPG the user interface it deserves!
For years now, IBM i customers have endured chronic user interface fatigue. The IBM i’s native character-based user interface unnecessarily dates your applications and they are challenging for new users to learn.
Beyond those annoyances, the IBM i’s native UI costs you time and money. It’s challenging, time consuming, and expensive to make your RPG application portfolio deliver on today’s modern business needs when it’s so constrained by the native user interface.
ASNA Wings changes all that. Wings modernizes your RPG green-screen user interfaces quickly and leaves all RPG logic and file IO resident and untouched on the IBM i. With Wings, not only can you modernize user interface cosmetics, but you can also add vital program enhancements at the presentation layer—without needing to change or retest your server-side RPG logic. ASNA Wings uses IBM’s Open Access to create brower-based alternatives to traditional green-screen display files. Read more about Wings here.

Hands-on: You don’t just listen—you do!
This isn’t your typical 1/2 day sales seminar. In this session, you’ll use a PC (that we provide) to join along with the presenter (which will be either ASNA’s Tim Jannsen or Roger Pence) to actually do the work with us (our presenters are onsite–this isn’t a phoned-in presentation!) . The hands-on experience you’ll acquire at this workshop will very quickly prove to you that Wings is the fastest, best way to add new life and value to your RPG application portfolio. This session will cover:
- The basics of IBM’s Open Access
- A quick introduction to Microsoft’s Visual Studio
- How to use Wings to import and create browser-based alternatives to your green screen display files
- Using Wings in the enterprise to import 100s of display files at once
- Powerful ways to further enhance the user experience in your Wings pages
In addition to our planned agenda, there is plenty of time for questions and answers.
