ASNA Wings® is the fastest, easiest way to create a modern user interface for RPG programs. Wings transforms green-screen display file DDS into browser pages (rendered as .NET ASPX pages). Wings uses IBM’s Open Access for RPG Edition so all of your RPG logic and file IO remains hosted on the IBM i platform. Any display files you choose not to modernize with Wings are displayed naturally in the ASNA browser-based emulator.
Unlike screen scrapers, all of the display file data (including all indicator values) is presented to the Wings presentation layer so the user interface can be customized using standard Web development techniques.
Wings benefits
- Works great at the department level and scales smoothly up to the enterprise level.
- Includes the ASNA 5250 emulator so that only selected display files need to be modernized.
- Protects the investment of a modernized UI in the event of later migrating the RPG application to .NET.
- Integrates with Visual Studio and doesn’t require a proprietary IDE or special skills to use.
- Features a UI that can easily be further modernized with standard browser development techniques and/or ASP.NET third-party controls.
