After much fanfare, tons of PowerPoints and videos and presentations, Windows Metro UI, as a brand, is no longer with us. After an apparent disagreement between Microsoft and a European business partner, Microsoft has ditched the Metro name. At least for the time being, what we once knew as Metro style will now be called, simply, a “Windows 8 application” or a “modern UI” application. It seems that this all caught Microsoft a bit by surprise there wasn’t time to think of a better replacement name.

The iProDeveloper Website is offering a free online event called “Developing for Web and Mobile Applications” on Wednesday, October 17, at 9:30AM ET. The entire agenda focuses on Web and mobile development.
As many of you know, we just wrapped up our annual ASNApalooza and we really had a great one this year! We were able to reconnect with the many customers and ISVs who attended. It was great to see them all and hear how they are using ASNA products to build great software.

ASNA is proud to announce the first two cities in its “No Stinkin’ Screen Scrapers Here” 2012 US tour. The first two free hands-on workshops will be held in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and Las Vegas, Nevada on February 9th and 24th, respectively. These workshops are the natural follow-on to ASNA’s previous tour of half-day Wings presentations around the country. Those presentations were very well received, but we heard attendee feedback loud and clear: you want to touch Wings; you want to use it! That’s what you’ll do in these workshops.
