Barcelona and San Antonio, Thursday, June 25—Caprabo, a large Spanish supermarket with a network of more than 320 stores, is using ASNA Mobile RPG to create mobile IBM i applications. These applications are created with ILE RPG, work with smartphones and tablets, and provide performant and secure IBM i connectivity.
Caprabo is a long-time IBM midrange shop and has used other ASNA products for years to provide other solutions within the organization. As frustrations started to appear with its centralized, RPG-centric back-office system, Caprabo realized the need for a new generation of IBM i mobile apps to be used by Caprabo employees to improve order management and sales tracking and reduce product loss.
Explains Caprabo's Daniel Muñoz Champel, IT and Logistics Director, "We have a long and very successful history with ASNA. We've used ASNA's products for years and have much experience with its knowledgeable services team. Having outgrown our old, centralized system, we needed a new in-house mobile solution for better asset management and improved employee workflows. When it came to our attention that ASNA had a new RPG-based mobile IBM i application solution, we quickly became very interested in that."
With ASNA Mobile RPG and the help of the ASNA Services Team, ASNA Mobile RPG is capably fulfilling Caprabo's need for mobile applications (read more about Caprabo and its use of Mobile RPG). Mobile RPG requires no special skills beyond knowing RPG, so Caprabo's RPG team was productive quickly in providing the RPG logic and file IO needed for the mobile apps. Caprabo currently has three different ASNA Mobile RPG apps deployed within its organization. These apps are in use daily by more than 300 Caprabo employees.
Says ASNA CEO Carlos Valero, "Caprabo has been an ASNA customer for many years and we greatly appreciate Caprabo's business. We were excited to show them how ASNA Mobile RPG empowers its RPG team to build a new generation of IBM i mobile apps and are proud of Caprabo's confidence in selecting Mobile RPG."
Adds Daniel Muñoz, "I'm proud of the work our RPG team has done on these ASNA Mobile RPG applications. Between the work our team has done (and is doing) and by leveraging our relationship with ASNA's Services Team we’ve delivered mobile applications quickly and effectively."
