Question

How can make HTML 5 document types with AVR for NET?

Answer

HTML document types are defined using the DOCTYPE directive at the top of a Web page. You can read more about HTML document types here.

In most cases, ASNA products (including Wings, Mobile RPG, and Monarch) already produce HTML 5 document types. However, depending on the project template you're using, ASNA Visual RPG may produce an XHTML 1.1 document type, which is specified with the DOCTYPE directive shown below:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.1//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml11/DTD/xhtml11.dtd">

It's easy to ensure your AVR projects are producing HTML 5 document types. To do so, change the DOCTYPE directive to:

<!DOCTYPE HTML>

That's it! Be sure to change the DOCTYPE directive on all ASPX pages or master pages in your project.

A primary purpose of the DOCTYPE directive is to ensure the the browser renders your pages appropriately.  It's usually best, especially for new projects, to use the HTML 5 document type.
